I’m sure you’ve seen these images on Facebook. They usually look straight forward. But there’s usually a little trick to it. So what’s the trick here?
Well, from the first line, 3 apples = 3, so 1 apple = 10.
On the second line, 10 plus 2 bunches of bananas = 18. So, 1 bunch is 4. (And this line is where the trick starts!)
On the third line, if 4 – 2 coconuts = 2. So, 1 coconut = 1.
And now the final line:
See what they did? There’s something–that bunch of bananas only has 3 bananas in it! If we look above, each of the bunches have 4 bananas in there. If a bunch of 4 bananas is 4, then 1 banana = 1. And a bunch of 3 bananas = 3.
So, 1 coconut (1) + 1 apple (10) + 3 bananas (3) = 14. And that’s the answer!
